World Book Day is coming March 2018. Our workshop & activities are designed to engage and inspire your pupils. We’ll be unlocking their imaginations, breaking down language barriers, and build self-awareness and confidence through team working activities.

Our workshops fulfills the key aspects of the National Curriculum.

Early years and foundation

  • 20 minute session
  • Covering 2 of the 3 EYFS prime areas of learning:
    • Communication & Language
    • Personal, Social and emotional development
  • And 2 of the 4 EYFS specific areas of learning:
    • Literacy
    • Understanding the world

Key stage 1

  • 30 minute session

Our workshop uses drama to complement the integrated approach to ‘Speaking and listening’,’reading’ and ‘writing’ found in English teaching. We will build on the early learning goals, developing skills, knowledge and understanding, particularly in the following areas:

  • Group discussion and interaction
  • Drama
  • Understanding text
  • Literature

The activities also assist with PSHE objectives, helping children to identify feelings (eg through interpreting facial expressions) and begin to share their views and opinions.

Key stage 2

  • 40 minute session

Our workshop uses drama to bring to life a variety of texts, exploring language, promoting discussion and complementing English teaching, particularly developing skills, knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • Speaking
  • Group discussion and interaction
  • Understanding text
  • Listening
  • Drama
  • Literature

The activities also assist with PSHE objectives, helping children to demonstrate that they recognise their own worth and that of others, they can express their views confidently and listen to and show respect for the views of others.

Each performance includes a Question & Answer session with the characters as well as a study pack with ideas for further activities.
